365, January 7-21st

Here's what I got up to Jan 7th thru 21st...

Clockwise from the left hand corner: the Mustache Mobile, in the Safeway parking lot; Otto singing, courtesy of Hightail Hotel; piles of knit samples found while cleaning out the closet at work; cool fort made of brush;  a rack of gorgeous dresses at J.Crew; the duck pond at McClaren park; first green shoots on a tree; the rad chandelier in the Bridal boutique at J.Crew; there's a cow on my chocolate! Amazing string quartet playing Britney Spears songs in the Powell Street Bart station; how do you walk in this shoe?! Kid-sized mannequins, also found while cleaning; Ha! panda, near work; a tasty cookie from Japan; my breakfast the day I lost my debit card, clementine courtesy of one of my awesome coworkers.

Alexander McQueen Pre Fall

I am IN LOVE with the collection Sarah Burton put together for the Pre Fall collection for Alexander McQueen.  It took some serious restraint on my part not to post EVERY look.  The fabrics are gorgeous; the silhouettes are elegant; the details are amazing and holy moly the construction!!  I could go on and on.  The years Ms Burton spent as McQueen's Number 2 are serving her extremely well as she leads this iconic label.

I love the applique work and that leather cincher is rad.

The cut of this suit screams sexy to me.

Something very Bond Girl about this look.

No words for how amazing this dress is.

This last dress is my favorite peice of the collection.  The drape is to die for and the print is elegant and simple.  LOVE it.

Pretty & Purple

via Pinterest

Lately, it seems as though I have been seeing purple everywhere I look.  Not just the run of the mill Royal Purple of my Alma Mater either (go Dawgs!).  Rich, ridiculously vivid purples...gorgeous vibrant super-saturated violets...neon plums.  Honestly, I'm normally not that into the color.  I think purple is nice and all but it can be a tough one for fair skinned blonds like myself to pull off.  I just can't seem to get enough at the moment though...

Where in the world is this?  I want to go!

Some of my fave purple finds!
Clockwise from top left:  Cerise top, Kate Spade; butter London nail polish in Scoundrel; Violet Deco suede bag, Top Shop; Celia cocktail ring, Banana Republic; Face Stockholm nail lacquer in Plum Forgot; leather gloves in Holiday Punch, Jcrew; Violet leather snake cuff, Etsy.

Coming soon...

Coming soon: TOMS ballet flats!
Two things of which I am a big fan: TOMS shoes and ballet flats.  Soon these two loves will become one!  That's right folks, the shoe company with the famous "One-for-One" mission is introducing the new silhouette for Spring '12.  Yes, TOMS are a bit funny looking, but they are awesomely comfy and the ballet flats (shown above) look super cute and more fashion-y.  You can sign up on the TOMS website to be notified when the shoes are available.  I can't wait!

365!

Happy New Year, folks!  I've never been one to make and keep New Year's resolutions, but this year I've promised myself I'll be a better blogger.  Between work, and social engagements and wedding planning, I have let my blogging really slack off.  Let's be real, my last post was in September!  That is less than stellar.  Well, I want to remedy that.  How you ask?  I am going to do my own 365 Project.  What's that you ask?  Simply put, it's taking a photo a day and posting it on a website.  You can follow the link to start your very own 365 Project or to look at what others have done.  Every week I will post seven photos from the days before.  My goal is that posting every week will inspire me to write and share more fabulous things with you.  I'm certainly not short on ideas!

Clock wise from top left:  Polka dot tree in the Ancient Plants section of the SF Botanical Garden; Sunset on the 1st day of 2012; Otto likes to take time to smell the flowers; Neat fabric and leather toggles on a sweater; The wall of the entry at the Press Club down town; the Peacock and his purple bucket at the Folsom Zoo.

Yes, I realize there are only six photos and I promised you seven.  Well I lied.  This week you only get six, but next week I will make up for it by giving you eight.  Happy?
